A Cornish Challenge at Sidmouth Folk Week

What a joyful Sidmouth Folk Week with the hilariously bonkers Sidmouth Horse Trials, daily concerts down in the fRoots cellarfull of folkedelia, workshops, dances and the mighty Stepping Time Rugby Club sessions with the Instep Research Team, and a bounty full of concerts, ceilidhs, sessions and perfectly delicious ice cream and yum coffee!

This year's 90 minute workshop was themed as 'A Cornish Challenge' with a handful of Cornish set, step and social dances, including 'Tin Stamp', 'Boscastle Breakdown' and "Mrs Parkyn's Jig'.

Huge thanks to members of Bagas Crowd for joining us in classic playing-for-dancing "Sparkling Saturdays" style . . . yes, we really must do this again soon :D

Great to see Kemysk Cornish Dancers over the weekend too, and see them appearing on BBC Spotlight!

“There are festivals…and there’s Sidmouth. Still uniquely glorious and gloriously unique after all these years.” - Colin Irwin
Hope to see you there next year :D
